How it works
Vừa, mới and vừa mới before a verb mean 'just (now)': Tôi vừa ăn xong 'I've just finished eating', Anh ấy mới đi 'He just left'. Mới also means 'new' after a noun (xe mới 'a new car') and 'only then' in other patterns (B2) — position tells them apart. Southern speech prefers mới. Mistake: putting vừa at the end (Tôi ăn vừa), or confusing mới + verb (just did) with noun + mới (new).
