How it works
Rồi at the END of a clause means 'already / now (a change has happened)': Tôi ăn rồi 'I've eaten', Muộn rồi 'It's late now', Em hiểu rồi 'I get it now'. It can combine with đã before the verb: đã… rồi. Rồi is also the short 'yes' to a chưa-question (next lesson). Mistake: putting rồi before the verb like English 'already' (Tôi rồi ăn), or using rồi in negatives — 'not yet' is chưa, never không… rồi.

Anh ấy về nhà rồi.He has gone home (already).
