How it works
Mà at the end insists on something the listener should know or has ignored — 'I told you', 'after all', 'but…': Em nói rồi mà! 'I told you already!', Ngon mà, ăn thử đi 'It's good, really — try it'. It can sound reproachful or reassuring depending on tone. Không sao mà 'It's fine, really'. Different from mà 'but/that' inside a sentence. Mistake: using mà to ask questions, or with strangers/superiors in a complaint (can sound sulky).
