How it works
Ngay after a verb means 'immediately': Tôi đến ngay 'I'll come right away'; ngay lập tức 'at once'. Before a time or place it means 'right / just': ngay bây giờ 'right now', ngay đây 'right here', ngay trước nhà 'right in front of the house'. Ngay cả… cũng = 'even': Ngay cả trẻ con cũng biết 'Even children know'. Mistake: ngay before the verb for 'immediately' (ngay đến ✗ → đến ngay).
