How it works
To compare, put hơn AFTER the adjective: Hà Nội lạnh hơn Sài Gòn 'Hanoi is colder than Saigon'. No 'more' word before the adjective, and no là. Amounts go after: đắt hơn 10 nghìn '10k more expensive'. 'Much more': hơn nhiều or nhiều hơn after the adjective (đẹp hơn nhiều). Verbs too: Tôi thích trà hơn cà phê. Mistakes: hơn before the adjective (hơn đẹp), adding là, or using hơn for equality.
