Three vowels English does not have

Ư has flat spread lips with the tongue pulled back — the lips must NOT round.
Ơ is a longer open sound made in the middle of the mouth.
 is the short version of Ơ, cut off quickly.

Ư is close to Russian ы and equally difficult. Watch yourself in a mirror: if your lips round, you have said U instead.
