Use at least three intermediate patterns: «để + verb» in order to, «tôi định» I plan to, «tôi nghĩ rằng» I think that, «tôi hy vọng» I hope.
Watch out: ĐỂ marks purpose and looks forward; VÌ marks cause and looks backward. Learners mix these two constantly.
